Smaranda's take on leadership

EXPERIENCE WITH RANGE AND DEPTH

Experience where business, technology and people meet.

Over two decades at McKinsey, I worked with senior leaders across technology, AI and professional services. I went on to lead the people agenda at QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, and later served as a CHRO, advising executive teams on leadership, growth and organisational change.

I care deeply about helping capable people become leaders others genuinely want to follow. My work combines the practical perspective of someone who has built and led inside organisations with the curiosity and depth of a psychologist and coach. The result is thoughtful, honest and firmly connected to the challenges leaders face every day.

WHAT LEADERS SAY

Trusted by leaders navigating change, growth and complexity.

Selected Testimonials

“She made the strategy usable, rather than politely accepting it and quietly routing around it."

Smaranda has an unusual capacity to hold both the individual and the system in view at once. She understands where talent supply actually is, what people can realistically stretch to, and which capabilities are genuinely scarce. She pressure-tested our skills strategy against reality and made it materially better.

Former senior skills strategy leader, McKinsey, Seattle

“An exceptional strategist, with a steady hand when it comes to turning strategy into reality.”

Smaranda brings a strategic and creative mind to challenging business questions, particularly those involving a tech-enabled future where there are no roadmaps already written. We worked together on the future of talent in an AI-infused organisation, from anticipating future talent needs to building, retaining and unleashing that talent.

AI & Workforce Transformation Strategy Director, global technology company, New York

“Warm, energetic, wise and thoughtful, but also fair and constructively challenging.”

I worked with Smaranda for many years, from professional development and AI talent strategy to advising senior AI and practice leaders on complex talent challenges. She brings deep and broad expertise together with the judgement and humanity of an experienced coach and senior leader.

MY POINT OF VIEW

AI should amplify human capability, and simply work.

Sustainable transformation starts with the problem, not the technology. I help organisations identify the friction that holds performance back, decide where AI can genuinely add value, and build the leadership, skills and conditions required to make adoption stick.

The result is practical: clearer choices, stronger leaders and an organisation more capable of turning change into advantage.
